Edition 50 | The Ambassador of the United Kingdom inaugurates the Solar Energy Project in the Quilotoa Community
British Alumni Ecuador
This project was an initiative of the Association of Ex Alumni of the United Kingdom in Ecuador where one of its members, Gabriel Castellanos, led the project in its initial stages, installation and execution. The project, among its multiple benefits, avoids the use of diesel and other combustible fossil contaminants in this ecological reserve, as well as the installation of traditional electrical networks that affect the landscape and natural beauty of the place.
The solar panels where installed in the Hostal Comunitario Princesa Toa 2, located on the shores of the lagoon in the crater, yielding clean and renewable energy, which will allow saving costs and delivering a better service to tourists that visit the area.
We would like to thank the British Embassy for their support for the execution of the project, and, as BAE we will continue bringing forward relevant projects that contribute to the benefit of the country and allow ex alumni to share their experience and acquired capabilities during their time in the United Kingdom.
